Welcome! Our story began in 1986 when the Magazu family first opened a tiny neighborhood veterinary clinic. Today, we offer state of the art, affordable care for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and pocket pets in a beautiful hospital here in our hometown. We truly love every pet who comes through our doors!
Dr. Mark Magazu grew up in an Air Force family and attended the United States Military Academy before studying Biochemical Engineering at Rutgers University. He earned his veterinary degree in Messina, Italy, and taught Radiology at Oklahoma State University. Today, Dr. Magazu loves working alongside his family each day, and he believes the Phillies and Eagles will both bring championships home to Philly!
Dr. Karen Collier is the Chief Medical Officer of Swedesboro Animal Hospital, responsible for setting and maintaining high standards of medical care for our patients. Dr. Collier studied Biology at Tougaloo College before earning her veterinary degree at Cornell University. She is a Phillies season ticket holder, and you can always find one of her dogs snoozing under her office desk.
Dr. Melissa Worhach joined our team in 2010, and she’s been a perfect fit ever since! She has always loved the sciences, and her lifelong adoration of animals led her to a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Worhach received her undergraduate degree in Wildlife Conservation and Management from Missouri State University and her veterinary degree from Kansas State University. She truly loves all aspects of working with clients to keep their pets happy and healthy.
Dr. Angela Youello completed a B.S. in molecular biology at Harvey Mudd College, a Ph.D. in immunology at Washington University, and a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in cancer research at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She attended veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania, where she won the Abbott Animal Health/VECCS Award for Proficiency in Emergency and Critical Care.
Dr. Jen Schori has worked at Swedesboro Animal Hospital since 2008, and she’s been in practice since 1993. She adores animals and her favorite part of veterinary medicine is getting to know her clients. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Schori is an Editor for the industry periodical Clinician’s Brief.
